FAQs
Answers to your questions
Do you require a minimum number of visits daily for vacation pet sitting?
For vacation scheduling, we require a minimum of one visit per day for cats and at least 3 per day for dogs in a 24-hour period.
My dogs need to stay crated while we are away on vacation. Will that be ok?
With 3 to 4 daily visits, your dog would spend approximately 22 to 22 ½ hours in a crate each day throughout the duration of your absence.
We firmly believe that subjecting a dog to such extended periods of crating over consecutive days is unfair to their well-being. As a result, we regrettably decline these jobs and instead suggest considering a boarding kennel or home boarding as more suitable options for dogs that require crating.
My teenage children are not going to go away with us but can’t be trusted to take care of the pets that's why we need you. Will that work?
Unfortunately, due to liability insurance restrictions, we are unable to accept jobs when a teenager or another adult will be present at home during our service period.
Nevertheless, we are more than happy to assist homeowners who require our services for reasons such as working from home, recovering from surgery and needing support with their pets.
My neighbors are willing to do 2 visits per day, can you do the other 2?
Unfortunately, due to liability insurance restrictions, we are unable to share jobs with other pet sitters, family, friends or neighbors.
When will I pay for service?
Payment is requested in full by the first visit for vacation pet sitting.
Payment for weekly potty breaks is due on the last walk of the week.
How do we pay for services?
You can pay with cash, check, Paypal or Venmo
How do you handle bad Ohio weather?
If a visit lands during strong thunderstorms, extreme cold or hot temperatures or heavy snow, we will ensure the dogs get outside for a quick potty break and spend the remainder of time playing inside.
In situations where road conditions pose a safety risk for travel, Animal Crackers Pet Care LLC retains the discretion to cancel scheduled visits.
As a precaution during the winter months, Animal Crackers Pet Care LLC strongly recommends establishing an emergency contingency plan. This plan entails enlisting the support of a neighbor or nearby relative who can assist in the event of adverse weather conditions. While such circumstances have rarely occurred, having a dependable backup plan in place serves as a safety measure for unforeseen situations.
My pets need medication. Can you give them?
We can administer medication, including dispensing pills, giving insulin, ear drops, eye drops, etc.. and will discuss with you during Meet and Greet.
Do you have any extra fees?
A fee of $10 is applicable for key pick-up as well as for key drop-off. Many clients choose to provide us with a key for safekeeping or opt for a mutually agreed-upon location for us to securely leave the key during the final visit, thereby avoiding the need for key pick-up or drop-off fees.
A $10 fee will be applied to each visit occurring on the following holidays: New Year’s Day, Easter, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day.
A $25 fee for refamiliarization appointments.
